Birthday Weekend

For my 21st birthday Logan took me to London again! On Saturday we drove to Epping - about an hour drive - then we took the tube into London. The subway took about 45 minutes to get to our first destination which was The Tower of London and The Tower Bridge. We went inside the tower and were able to walk along the castle walls. From the tower we could see the bride. The Tower of London was almost like it's own little village. We even saw the Crown Jewels there.

After the Bridge we went shopping. There is a department store called TopShop in London. This place was HUGE! There were five floors. The floor you walk into was strictly dedicated to accessories. The two floors upstairs were the mens sections, TopMan, and the bottom two were womens. As we walked in there was loud, upbeat music playing and people everywhere. I was surprised to see that not all the prices were absolutely outrageous either! Logan bought a beanie and I bought a dress. We went to other stores along the street but none were quite as impressive as that. It was funny to go into a music and movie store (also huge) and see country music categorized with world music.

Our next stop was Parliment Hill. From this park we could see the cityscape of London. It was a beautiful view.

For dinner we ate at an Italian restaurant. The food was good but the method of ordering was strange and took forever. We had to stand in lines and wait for a long time.

The most exciting part of the night was going up into The London Eye! We wanted to go when it was dark so we could see all of the lights of the city. The Ferris wheel takes a really long time. It never stops - except for the elderly - but it moves incredibly slow. The view from the top was amazing though! There were lights for as far as you could see in every direction.

Logan booked us a nice hotel for the night. We were exhausted and could barely walk from the busy day. The next day we slept in and then went to see a production of The Lion King. This show was so impressive! It was interesting how they did the characters. We both really enjoyed it. For dinner we found a Mexican place. We were both wanting Mexican food like from home, not the Spanish food we've found here. We stumbled upon a place and were so happy to find that it was Mexican!

I had a wonderful birthday weekend!
