European Road Trip | Munich, Germany

European Road Trip Days 3 - 5

On day 3 of our European road trip we did something that I have yet to tell my mom about... we picked up hitch hikers. We stopped at a rest stop in Germany and saw a lady hitchhiking. We passed on not thinking about it. Our next stop, about an hour from Munich, we saw two guys who wanted a ride to München (Munich in German). Logan asked if we should pick them up and I somehow agreed to it. I went inside and Logan stayed out to talk to the guys, find out if they speak English, and see how well he trusted them. One was a teacher and he hitchhiked all the time. It was the other's first time hitchhiking and he did not like it. He was a student, about to complete his masters to be a carpenter, and he was afraid he would not make it back home in time to complete the work he needed to get done. They were both extremely friendly and told us about Germany and the German language. One even gave us a new destination to add to our road trip.

Munich was another bike friendly city. Day 4 was spent riding to the BMW museum and the Olympic park. That night we went on a German pub crawl and met other American's who were from a school in Chicago.

On day 5 we left Munich we decided to go to Tegernsee, The place suggested by our hitchhiker. It was absolutely gorgeous! There was a rock beach that we sat on and we ate sausages at a very busy beer garden. We left Tegernsee and started towards Neuschwanstein Castle (The oh so popular castle that inspired Disney). The castle was so pretty! It was also right on the edge of Germany close to Austria. We drove through the mountains in Austria that were absolutely gorgeous, but a little challenging in an RV.

Disclaimer: Remember we are living out of an RV, pictures of Logan and I may not be the prettiest :)

^No, I did not drink that.
